12 Days of Christmas

So it's taken 12 days, but I'm back and in action. I started the new job, but I'm not going to discuss it on this lovely blog because I'm pretty sure that anything I say can and will be used against me in a court of law. But I've worked for 6 days so far and I'm still alive (sort of) so I guess it's going well. I really have to learn to get used to the quiet. Quiet is not something I enjoy, nor is it something I'm used to, especially in a work environment. At my old job, it was completely acceptable to scream through cubes, yell at people who weren't giving you subpoenaed information and scream into the offices across the hall...In the new job, I don't think any of that is acceptable and if it is, I have not seen any co-workers partake in those activities as of yet. But that's okay, maybe Ivy league grads actually work at work...this is a novel concept, maybe it will rub off on me.

My birthday was yesterday...I'm old. My birthday also happens to be Christmas Day and since 75% of my family is in Virginia, that's where my birthday festivities have taken place since forever. In VA, we all (approximately 20) stay in one house and it's always an adventure, for example, yesterday my mother was entirely too eager to point out that I'm no longer in my 'early twenties' and my grandmother told me I looked like "Pretty Woman" (my response was before or after she was a hooker?) In her defense, she's 85 years old and swears she meant Julia Roberts, but couldn't think of her name...I'm still not 100% convinced. I also had an uncle greet me by asking "Did you just wake up?"...And I hadn't; I was dressed, made-up and my hair was done. I also lived in VA for a summer as an intern, so there are other people that I have to make it a point to see while I'm down there. It really is a jam packed 2 1/2 days. Even though they are all freaking nuts, my family really is wonderful. My family is made up of some of the most incredible people...we have amazing athletes (some even in the MLB Hall of Fame), beauty queens, politicians, business owners, investors, entrepreneurs and so one and so forth...and when you put all of us under one roof, it's bound to be a good time. Of course we have the same crazies every other family has, but with wine, family and Catch Phrase, you really can't go wrong.

Currently it's blizzarding here, I have NO idea how I'm getting to work tomorrow. I would love to not go, but on my 7th day of work, that looks a little shady, no? And I have to leave early on Thursday to go to the PINSTRIPE BOWL...whooo hooo....Go Syracuse!!!

I've been thinking about my New Years Resolution and I have a few already picked out...I'll post them on January 1.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!!
