We have a 'Situation'

Disclaimer: I wrote this post on Thursday, February 23...I didn't want to post it on 'Foto Friday' or post two on Thursday, so I put it off until today (Monday).

For those of you who have read this blog (all 105 posts, including this one) you know that I post funny, irritating and obnoxious stuff that has happened to me in regards to dating.  What I don't do, is post the good stuff about the good guys and believe it or not there are a few.  I think part of the reason is because I don't want to hurt their feelings, or for them to feel betrayed when they find the blog....obviously with the jerks I don't really care.  The other thing I don't do is tell you all when I meet someone that I think is fantastic.  There are a few reasons I don't disclose this information:

1. I'm scared I'll 'jinx' it
2. I'm still trying to figure out what's 'wrong' with him
3. He'll find this blog and think I belong in an asylum before our first date
4. I'm actually really excited about him and want to share everything with you guys all at once, but I have to wait for 'everything' to happen first

The current situation falls into all 4 of those categories (don't moan and groan and say you want to know about it, at this point we should all just be happy that I have a 'current situation') so I need to be careful about what I'm about to say. 

We all know I get my horoscope sent to me regularly....I also read it and try to apply it to my every day life...regularly.  And today, it fit! 

Even my horoscope is telling me to give up on finding a flaw and follow my heart.

New Me...

So last night was the first time in recent memory that I didn't participate in 'Fat Tuesday' activities...and I have to say I'm proud of myself!  You might remember this post that I wrote on December 1st about how I was changing...and let me tell you I have!  I'm down 16 lbs in a month and have been working my butt off to make sure I'm healthy and happy. 

I'm starting to think that my change in attitude is contagious and becoming relative to more than just my weight.  I've recently decided to look for jobs outside of the NYC/NJ area and am perfectly content with the idea of moving to a new place (Chicago), making (a few) new friends and starting fresh.  Not that there's anything wrong with my old friends, but everyone needs a fresh start once in a while. Also pulling me to Chicago is the fact that Midwestern guys are so polite (and good looking) and I found a few beautiful apartments for under $1000/mo and 3 of my best friends from college are there.  If you can't tell by this paragraph, I'm basically sold on this idea...it's not a matter of "should I?", it's a matter of "when will I?".  Chicago even has a "beach"...I'm telling you, I'm amazed I didn't think to move there sooner!

In other news, it's Ash Wednesday...which means it's time for a Lenten resolution.  I had a really hard time figuring out what to give up...last year I did caffeine, that was awful, I suffered through withdrawl headaches and was EXTREMELY irrational.  So ladies and gents, this year I decided to give up coffee, soda and SF Red Bull.  For those of you who don't know, I am a Diet Coke addict...it's awful.  So for the next 40 days, I will be ALMOST caffeine free, I am allowing myself to drink tea.

Question

Anyone want to tell me why this won't work? (I've highlighted it in case you missed it).  I would also take into consideration that 95% of men lie about their height and add as much as 2 inches on to their actual height, which means there's a chance he's actually 5'4, which means he shorter than my youngest cousin (who's 12).

So most of you know that my office suffered a flood.  I lost a ridiculous amount of shoes (some were Cole Haan) a cell phone charger and most importantly, my sanity. If you asked me a month ago, I would've told you that working from home sounded like a great idea, but I have done a complete 180 on that theory.  It sucks!  I swear I worked harder from home than I do at work!  After all, I have lost almost 15 lbs and started spinning again and have been attending Weight Watchers meetings...all while actually working!  I was exhausted!  It took me 3 days, but my workspace is officially clean and back to the way it was, which I'm ecstatic about!  Whew, that was a good venting session for the week!

In other news...I've been going back and forth with some friends (and cousins) about some issues I've been having in the dating world for about a week now...I've been given advice from every angle humanly possible (I think I've been trying to find someone who agrees with me) and swamping myself with everyone's thoughts and comments, the consensus was that everyone disagreed with me, then today my horoscope said this:



I over analyze everything, from my nail polish color to my favorite breakfast food...even my horoscope is telling me to chill the hell out and listen to my friends and family.
