Spring is here!

It's finally spring in NYC...well it's 80 freaking degrees so I guess it's more like Summer at the current moment...but never the less, I'll take it. The Yankee game last week was fun! Two friends from CT were there also and seeing them is always a good time. My cousin and I are below (we decided we look pretty good blurry)...I really do love her....even if she wants me to wear yellow in her wedding.

But OMG do I have more to write about.

AD had her birthday party at CV Lounge last Saturday and it was a sh*tshow to say the least...but fun none the less...It was the first 'lounge' I have ever been to and I don't really know how I feel about it...haha. I hate dancing (there was none, though 2 guys tried to convince me otherwise) but hole in the wall pubs are more my thing...but it was certainly fun to schnaz it up a little bit and be out with good friends...even in the DOWN POOR that decided to show up for some champagne as well. I'm going to have to write my next post in story form, because I don't want to deter people from reading it...I thought I was going to be fired yesterday morning...literally fired....so long job....so long paycheck...so long life...Story to come.

Fab Friday

Well...I found the post I deleted. You're welcome.

I am SO happy the weekend is finally here...well I still have 2.5 hours, but who's counting? I have to share what I woke up to this morning. An email that read like this:
To: MK
From: Boss Man
6:50am, EST

En route to Newark [Airport] and just learned that [girlfriend's] son is sick. Trying to get coverage from 11-5 and if we don't [girlfriend] needs to turn back. If we can't figure it out, I need you to jump in a car and watch him at her house then take a car back. Stay tuned, but let me know if this is impossible for any reason.

Okay, first of all, they were going to Cabo for his partners surprise party, did [girlfriend] really need to go on this trip? I'll let you decide. Second of all, I know I'm supposed to do whatever is asked of me, but risk my health for the sake of your mini tryst? I'm not sure that's in my job description. AND I work for you, not [girlfriend]. This is my life, welcome.
But I was at the Yankee game last night! And they won in extra innings! And they took the top spot in the AL East! GOOOOOOO Yankees! It's my friends birthday party in NYC tomorrow night...I'm sure there will be stories from that outing...Cant wait to fill you in on Monday!

It's a GLORIOUS day...

My breakfast meeting went off without a hitch (yippee!!) of course the lunch portion still has to be done, but that should be easy...I know the last post MIGHT have had some of you worried about me (I say might because I have no idea if anyone even reads this thing and if you do read it, do you really care?) but I am a-okay. Especially because Boss Man leaves for vacation for 12 days tomorrow! YIPPEEEE! That means a 'vacation' for me as well! A vacation full of cleaning the office, organizing storage closets, painting an office and putting together a 65 lb desk...but I love anything that requires organization, so I am all in! Today will get even better when I get to the Bronx to watch the Yankees take on Baltimore with my best friend from high school and my cousin who's never been to a Yankees game in her life. You'd think being RELATED to a Yankee would maybe have her intrigued, but nope, my uncle raised her a Mets fan (thanks for nothing Uncle T). Anyway...she's trying to find me a man, which is always an interesting endeavor, especially because she thinks I deserve nothing but the best...which I love her for, but makes agreeing on a 'prospect' incredibly difficult. I'm sure I'll have pictures and a story or two to write about tomorrow...Stay tuned!

I Need a Vacation

Okay, so I took on the task of converting one of our small conference rooms in our office into a comfy 'reading room' for two of our directors. Sounds simple enough, right? WRONG. Today I had to put together 2 leather recliners and a table...There are two other tables still in a box. I hate the table...absolutely hate it. If it was my house, it would've be taken apart and put back in the box and shipped back...but it's not and my office pals are convincing me it's 'not that bad' so I think it's actually staying. I'm so 'blah' about this whole thing....Decorating on someone else's buck would be so fun if it was my own apartment, not a boring space for people that aren't me!!

There are two of these chairs: And this is the only assembled table:

I'm hoping to get this lamp to pull this shiznit together:

I've also been looking for a desk, which is enough to make me want to grab the gun...Especially there isn't a desk to match that ridiculous table. UGH.

I think I'm just having a pretty bad day all around...I thought I was being funny last night and sent a text I probably shouldn't have sent...especially because the response was NOT what I expected. It's been followed by ZERO communication and I'm pretty sure there won't be a follow up conversation. I'm not happy about this at all...in fact I almost want to cry, but hey, this is what I do...I push people away...I'm actually really good at it...Note to self, next therapy topic should be 'letting people in'...

I think that's the most depressing blog post I've ever written...Sorry about that...On the bright side, tomorrow is Friday...Thank the good Lord!!

Like the new digs?

I thought my last background was 'too muted' and didn't reflect my 'vibrant personality'...So I picked a 'Syracuse friendly, Otto inspired' background. Enjoy the brightness of it all! Happy (Donkey) Hump Day! ...That's for you @CLRochelle.
